 LEE GATE
 Literary Performance Awards

For children, teens, and young adults up to age 25.
Our Purpose: To recognize writing excellence and to combat A-literacy

Theatre Arts This is a contest of original skits, stage plays, and screenplays. Submit an author cover sheet, a brief summary paragraph, a brief synopsis of the entire work, and the script. Submit the official entry form.

Literature and Writing This is a contest to take an excerpt from a work in the public domain. Choose a supporting or flat character from a public domain story. Create a short story based on that character as a protagonist. This story should be true to the time and setting of the original work but have its own voice, much like a singer who performs another artist's song would give it their own style. Submit an author cover sheet, a brief summary paragraph, a brief synopsis of the entire work, and your story. Submit the official entry form.

Fitness and Science This is a contest of literary fiction. Choose a real-life scientific discovery and create a fiction short story about how the discovery directly or indirectly helped a character become an elite athlete. You may choose to create a fantasy, romance, western, mystery, suspense-thriller, horror story, or Science Fiction. Submit an author cover sheet, a brief summary paragraph, a side-by-side timeline of the historical discovery and your fictitious narrative, and a copy of your story. Submit the official entry form.
